Zulum appoints new Rector for Ramat Polytechnic

Mr. Bukar Abubakar has been chosen to serve as the next rector of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, and Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has given his approval.

According to a statement from Mallam Isa Gusau, the governor’s special adviser on media and strategy, Abubakar served as the polytechnic’s deputy rector for administration prior to his appointment.

“The new Rector served as the Mechanical Engineering Technology Department Head from 2014 to 2019, as Acting Director of the School of Engineering in 2016, Principal Lecturer from 2018 to 2021, Deputy Rector for Administration from 2020, Chairman of the Staff Development Committee from 2020 to the present, and Chief Lecturer from 2022 to the present.

“The new Rector has close to 40 published and few unpublished research works in academic journals,” the statement said.

Abubakar is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the International Association of Engineers, the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, the Nigeria Association of Vocational and Technical Educators, and the Nigerian Association of Engineers, according to the statement.
