The 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid on Wednesday night allowed Manchester City to secure its place in this year’s Champions League final.

In Spain last week, the two clubs fought to a dramatic 1-1 tie.

It was a momentous night for Pep Guardiola’s team as they came within three victories of repeating Manchester United’s treble from 1998–1999 thanks to goals from Eder Militao’s own goal and Julian Alvarez in stoppage time.

When they play Inter Milan on June 10 in Istanbul, Pep Guardiola’s team will have the potential to take home the trophy for the first time ever.

In the other semi-final, Inter defeated city rivals AC Milan 3-0.
