President Bola Tinubu’s inauguration address was deemed underwhelming by the Labour Party, LP.
The National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, claimed that Tinubu’s inauguration address revealed the “shallowness and policy incongruity” he wishes to provide Nigerians.
The 16th President of Nigeria, Tinubu, was sworn in on Monday.
Ifoh disagreed, calling Tinubu’s claim that he won the 2023 presidential contest fairly “a slap in the faces of millions of Nigerians.”
Ifoh released the following statement: “The Labour Party is dissatisfied with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration address delivered today which plainly showed the shallowness and policy inconsistency that his administration, while it lasts, intends to bequeath to Nigerians.
“The audacity and joy with which Tinubu proclaimed his election to be fair, however, shocked Nigerians today. We see this boldness as a slap in the faces of millions of Nigerians who exercised their right to free speech when casting their ballots but were still defrauded by the combined might of state institutions and the brutal brigandage that was used against them.
“APC destroyed our country, and we cannot let it go worse. We need to become more conscious of our obligations to keep individuals in positions of authority responsible.”
