Senate extends break, shifts plenary to May

The Senate has said that its plenary would not resume until May 2, 2023.

The Senate clerk, Chinedu Francis Akubueze, verified this in a statement issued on Friday.

The last break was for MPs to observe Easter and Eid al-Fitr on April 5, and the session was due to resume on April 25. But no justification for the plan change was given.

The statement urged senators to show up for the plenary session on May 2, 2023, at 10:00 am. The resumption of the Senate in plenary has been moved from Tuesday, April 25, 2023 to Tuesday, May 2, 2023, he stated, informing the distinguished senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria of the change.

“By this notice, all distinguished senators are requested to return to the plenary on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, by 10:00 am prompt, please.”
