On Wednesday, the Russian military said that numerous Ukrainian drones had been thwarted over the previous night in borderlands.
According to a British study, Moscow forces also downed one of their own fighter jets last month.
A total of 31 unmanned aerial vehicles were reportedly shot down by air defense forces over the districts of Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk, according to the Moscow Defense Ministry.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod, however, mentioned the destruction of an administrative structure.
Over 19 months prior, Russia had begun a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Attacks on Russian soil have also grown recently, despite Moscow frequently downplaying their significance.
However, the severity of the harm and the number of fatalities have little to do with the effects of the conflict in troubled Ukraine.
According to British analysts, a Russian fighter jet was unintentionally shot down by Russian air defenses close to the captured Ukrainian town of Tokmak.
“On Sept. 28, Russian air defence forces highly shot down one of their own Su-35S FLANKER M multi-role combat jets over Tokmak, approximately 20km behind the current front line.’’
This was stated in the daily bulletin from the British Ministry of Defense.
Although Russia has lost almost 90 fixed-wing aircraft since the invasion began, it was stated that this was likely only the fifth Su-35S to go down.
According to the analysis, Russia’s most sophisticated combat fighter is in regular use.
“The location is relevant because Tokmak is a heavily fortified town which often hosts Russian headquarters commanding one of the most intensely contested sectors of the front line.’’
“These headquarters would typically be protected with dedicated short and medium-range air defence systems.
“These are almost certainly held at very high readiness, as Ukraine continues to conduct effective deep strikes against such locations.’’(NAN)
