The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, submitted certified copies of President Bola Tinubu’s academic and professional records, and the court that oversees presidential election petitions has accepted them.

A B.Sc. degree from Chicago State University, a discharge certificate from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and a service certificate from Mobil Nigeria Oil Plc are among the documents.

Through their subpoenaed witness, private attorney Mike Enahoro-Ebah of the PDP delivered the records.

He pointed out that although the documents were supposedly retrieved by Tinubu, they were signed “Bola Adekunle Tinubu.”

Chris Uche, the PDP’s principal attorney, introduced the witness into testimony along with the forms EC13 and EC9 nominations as well as the letters sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as attachments.

Abubakar Mahmoud, the attorney for INEC, Emmanuel Ukala, Lateef Fagbemi, and Tinubu all raised objections to the admissibility of the documents.

The following records were mentioned by the witness:

(1) Certified true copies of form EC9(Nomination letter of Tinubu).

(2) Receipt of payment for certification.

(3) Witness application letter requesting the documents.

(4) INEC’s Letter of response.

(5) Certificate from Chicago University belonging to the 2nd respondent( Tinubu).

(6) NYSC discharge certificate belonging to the 2nd respondent, Tinubu Bola Adekunle.

(7) Certificate of service from Mobile Oil Nigeria PLC.

(8) Party membership card.

All of the respondents raised objections to the admission of these papers when the lead attorney for PDP attempted to offer them.

The witness also presented academic records from Chicago University, a copy of the subpoena issued to the institution, original academic records and degree certificates, an original admission letter, and an original transcript from Southwest College, the school Tinubu attended and which was given to Chicago University with the gender indicated as female.

Additionally, he presented the cover note approving the criminal confiscation of Tinubu’s assets as well as a notarized judgment from the USA. In addition, copies of a Guinean passport and Tinubu’s certificate of compliance were shown.
