In order to buy petrol, drivers in the state have been reminded not to indiscriminately park on the highways and internal roads by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command.
The warning was given by Mr. Ahmed Umar, the FRSC Sector Commander, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ota, Ogun.
Umar spoke against the backdrop of the fuel shortage brought on by the Federal Government’s elimination of the fuel subsidy.
He claimed that the warning to drivers was required in order to prevent traffic congestion throughout the state.
“The sector commander advised drivers to drive calmly and to avoid forming more than two lanes when purchasing petrol.”
In order to protect their lives and the lives of others, Umar also advised drivers not to carry jerry cans in their vehicles, stating that “this is a dangerous act.”
