Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has refuted viral reports claiming that he was detained at a UK airport.

He clarified that he was only subjected to a routine immigration check instead of being held for hours, as was previously reported.
The former governor of Anambra State emphasized that he was never arrested and that the entire process lasted less than 20 minutes during an interview with Arise TV on Monday night.

According to Obi, he underwent an immigration check in the UK due to suspicions that his identity had been duplicated by another person. He stated that he received VIP treatment and was not arrested during the process.

Obi added that he was treated respectfully and was able to go through the VIP process, and the whole check took less than 20 minutes.
