The Labour Party asserts that the Bashiru Lamidi Apapa branch of the party was humiliated while leaving the Presidential Election Petition Court on Wednesday morning.
The side of Mr. Julius Abure, the party’s temporarily suspended national chairman, and Apapa battled during the court hearing.
The two groups asserting control over the party’s national leadership were not acknowledged by the court.
The party said that the Apapa faction was present in court to shorten the hearing in a tweet sent on its Twitter account.
As said in the tweet, “Rebel former Deputy National Chairman of Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa made real his threat to truncate the Presidential Election Tribunal by seeking to attend as a representative of the @NgLabour at the ongoing hearing but was disallowed by the Tribunal. He was thoroughly disgraced”.
