After the tires allegedly caught fire, a Max Air plane has reportedly made a forced landing at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA.
When the event happened, it was learned that the aircraft had just landed in Yola, Adamawa State.
The airport’s Aerodrome Rescue and Fire-fighting Service, or ARFFS, was quickly called upon to extinguish the fires.
The tyre blew at Yola Airport after takeoff, according to Dr. Mike Ogirima, a former president of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), who provided an account of the occurrence.
Nevertheless, the plane crashed-landed in Abuja with emergency personnel already on the scene to put out the fire before the passengers got off right at the runway.
Dr. Mike Ogirima statement
“We praise God,” the pilot calmed us and said we were still on the runway. He signaled for the stairs, and we are now getting off the runway to be evacuated to the airport building’s arrival hall.
“We thank God for allowing us to see the tyre being pulled out of the ground in Yola’s airport while we were in the middle of a prayer session. We bless God, but I didn’t mention it because I’m a surgeon so as to prevent panic.
While the runway was temporarily closed until the airplane was evacuated, the passengers safely disembarked from it.
The passengers reportedly disembarked safely, according to an airline spokesman who confirmed the occurrence.
