Davido has been instructed to remove his latest contentious video tweet by Senator Shehu Sani, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
After tweeting a contentious video of his signee, Logos Olori’s new track, “Jaye Lo,” on his Twitter account on Saturday, the singer came under fire.
Davido had been given a 24-hour deadline to remove the tweet by a number of Muslims.
However, the singer seems to have ignored the backlash, as the video depicting some sensitive Islamic content remains on his page.
Sani, a former politician, reacted by giving advice to the singer on Twitter on Sunday.
He believes Davido should have removed the tweet’s content since it became contentious and offended his supporters.
He wrote: “As an artist or entertainer if your fans feel offended by a piece or portion of your work, especially as it concerns their culture, faith, or religious beliefs, it will be most honorable for you to delete or edit that portion, apologize to them, and move on. I’m here talking about Davido. This is my own opinion.”
