Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the recently appointed Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), has committed to using STI to benefit Nigerians and advance the nation’s economy.
In a statement released on Monday upon his return to work, Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, the director of information and protocol for NASENI, revealed this.
According to him, NASENI would maximize its potential by domesticating cutting-edge technologies in order to carry out the eight economic priorities set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
“The focus is for innovation, science and technology resources to serve Nigerians and to add value to the national economy.
“We shall adopt, adapt and domesticate cutting-edge technologies wherever we find them. We will build a pool of well-educated and talented personnel, support world-class research and development (R&Ds), and build partnerships and collaborations across Nigeria, Africa and the world,” he said.
Haliru was only chosen to succeed Dr. Bashir Gwandu as the EVC of NASENI five days ago.
