On Thursday, June 6, Facebook owner Meta is set to release its own app to compete with Twitter.
Instagram will be connected to the app, named Threads.
Screenshots depict a dashboard that resembles Twitter. Threads is referred to as a “text-based conversation app” by Meta.
According to Meta, ‘Threads’ has been made pre-orderable on the Apple Store and is anticipated to be linked to Instagram.
A “text-based conversation app” is how the business characterizes its new product.
The app’s description on the Apple Store states, “Threads is where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what will be trending tomorrow.”
The launch of the new Meta app coincides with the introduction of a number of features by Musk, and it is claimed to be a copy of the well-known microblogging service, Twitter.
The decision was made a few months after Twitter Chairman Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided to square off in a cage fight.
In an apparent retaliatory move against Mr. Zuckerberg, Mr. Musk tweeted in response to a tweet about Threads, “Thank goodness they’re so sanely run.”
Twitter has announced that TweetDeck, a well-known user dashboard, would become pay-to-use after 30 days.
The initiative is Mr. Musk’s most recent attempt to get users to subscribe to Twitter Blue, the company’s subscription service.
Due to severe “data scraping,” the multi-billionaire on Saturday limited the quantity of tweets that consumers may view.
According to Meta’s Threads app, the service will be free and there won’t be any limitations on how many postings a user may view.
