Mother of Iconic rapper Jay-Z’s, Gloria Carter wed her longtime lover Roxanne Wilshire on Sunday night in New York City.
Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Tyler Perry, and Robin Roberts all attended the celebrity-studded wedding. The wedding guests allegedly partied hard, and the Tribeca celebration ended at approximately one in the morning.
As the celebration came to an end, the newlyweds were spotted departing with Roxanne wearing a magnificent gold and white shimmering dress and Gloria wearing a white suit.
Gloria, who came out as a lesbian in 2017, has received a lot of support from Jay-Z.
“Mama had four kids, but she’s a lesbian/Had to pretend so long that she’s a thespian/Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate/Society shame and the pain was too much to take,” he rapped. “Cried tears of joy when you fell in love/Don’t matter to me if it’s a him or her/I just wanna see you smile through all the hate/Marie Antoinette, baby, let ’em eat cake.”
When he learned that his mother had fallen in love, Jay-Z admitted in an interview with David Letterman for the Netflix series ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’ that he had cried with delight.
