IPOB issued a warning to the Arewa community to stop disparaging Kanu’s release.
Musa Saidu, the Community’s leader, made the call while criticizing Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze, for his comment.
Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, responded by calling the Arewa community a mushroom group that was showing off its stupidity to the world.
Powerful issued the following statement: “We, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, condemn the frank words attributed to non-existent and so-called Southern Arewa Forum against the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu.
“It is clear that the mushroom Arewa group is showing off its illiteracy and stupidity to the public.
“They overlooked the fact that the Supreme Court of Nigeria, not them, has the authority to resolve Nnamdi Kanu’s case.
“It’s sad that we were compelled to join forces with individuals who reject the application of the law. The reputation of Nigeria has been tarnished by these individuals. Nigeria is now viewed as an outcast among developed nations.”
The Arewa group was advised by IPOB that Kanu’s situation had both national and international repercussions.
