To lessen the effects of the termination of the fuel subsidy, the federal government has distributed N5 billion palliative to each state of the federation, including the federal capital territory (FCT).

This information was provided by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum to reporters after the conclusion of a National Economic Council (NEC) meeting today, August 17.

The meeting was presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The 36 state governors of the federation, the ministers of finance and the federal capital territory (FCT), the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the group chief executive officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) are some of the individuals who make up the NEC.
