Following the unexpected passing of one of its judges, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong, the Federal High Court’s Abuja headquarters has been plunged into a state of mourning.
On Sunday evening, just after the court had begun its yearly holiday, he tragically passed away.
Hassan Amida Sulaiman, the Chief Registrar of the Court, confirmed the unfortunate news in a moving statement issued on Monday.
The statement read, “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our own, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong.”
“Justice Mallong passed away on 30th July, 2023, unexpectedly after a brief illness in Abuja. We will miss him more than words can express.
“Funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due time.”
