On Wednesday night, Manchester City defeated Arsenal 4-1 to improve their prospects of retaining the Premier League crown.
The champions, who still have two games in hand, started the match at the Etihad five points behind the Gunners. Kevin De Bruyne started the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s men with a low drive before John Stones headed in off a free-kick.
After the half-time break, De Bruyne finished off a move after Arsenal lost the ball in the middle of the pitch. Even though Mikel Arteta’s team got a goal back through Rob Holding, there was still enough time for Erling Haaland to add the 4th.
With 75 points, Arsenal remains in first place, although their 5-point advantage has shrunk to just two.
