The Nigerian Senate has approved Nyesom Wike, the most recent governor of Rivers State, for a cabinet position.
Wike stated that the motivation for his decision to accept the ministerial position was his love for the nation.
In response to a question, he stated, “I accepted the offer to serve as a minister because of my passion to serve Nigeria.”
Barinada Mpigi (PDP, Rivers Southeast), a politician for River State, supported him throughout the screening.
Mpigi stated, “His Excellency former Governor Nyesom Wike is our best in Rivers State. He is our leader and role model.”
“Distinguished senators, we employ that you should let him just take a bow and go.
“His resume is insufficient to enumerate the works that he has done.”
The Senate President, GodsWill Akpabio, thereafter, told Wike to take a bow and leave.
