The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) boards have been excused from dissolution by President Bola Tinubu.
About a day ago, Tinubu gave his approval for the immediate dissolution of the governing boards of all parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned businesses.
This is being done in the public interest and in the execution of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation’s constitutional powers, according to a statement signed by Willie Bassey, Director, Information.
But in a statement released today, the federal government said: “Further to the directive on the dissolution of Boards of Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions, and Government-owned Companies, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation has clarified that the Boards of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration & Control (NAFDAC) are exempt from such dissolution.”
