The Action Alliance (AA) has dropped its petition objecting to Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, being elected president.

At the presidential election tribunal’s pre-hearing meeting on Monday, the party made its withdrawal public.

The party’s legal team is headed up by Oba Maduabuchi, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

None of the delegates from the other parties objected after the Action Alliance stated its intention to withdraw the petition.

Another attorney had introduced himself as the AA representative before the notification of the withdrawal.

He claimed that the party wants the petition dismissed since it did not authorize the action.

However, Maduabuchi asserted that the first and second petitioners were the ones for whom he filed the petition.

Maduabuchi then formally requested to have the party’s petition withdrawn.
